Unfortunately, I decided to change all my passwords at the same time. I went to my online bank account website and updated that password. I went to couple of other online services I subscribe to and I updated my passwords.
2 hours later, there I was staring at the Hotmail sign in page, unable to sign in. I had forgotten my password.
Luckily, I had the presence of mind to link my two email addresses. Even though, I use one account for secondary email (for signing up with online offers, subscriptions), because my two email addresses were linked, I was able to ask Hotmail to send my password update instructions to my “linked” email address.
This was another benefit of having two email addresses….and linking them.
You can link your email addresses at www.account.live.com->Account->Linked IDs.
