What is SkyDrive
SkyDrive is a remarkable and unique source for being able to upload all your important documents, mp3's,
photo's and so much more! Imagine being able to have a secure way for your family to look at your precious memories or listen to some of your favorite music! What is truly an unprecedented and remarkable tool is that you can set the access limitations to who can and can not see your files. For those who use Live Writer, there is a plug-In that will allow you to embed your SkyDrive files directly into your blogs or you can e-mail the links of the files you want to share with the people of your choice. If you can upload your photo's to your "Spaces" site, then uploading them to SkyDrive is even easier. Once you are on their site you can upload a file as a single unit or upload several at one time. They provide you with a unique upload tool that enables you to "drag and drop" the selected files you want to upload and "Click" it is just that simple.
Share It With the World
Imagine that you are a world renown photographer or a musician or someone who writes fabulous articles! You choose a folder for each category of item's you are uploading then you can choose the permissions level from each of the folders you create!
You can make each folder private so that it is only viewable by you, selected from those that are already on your contact list or share it with the entire world! That's the great part of SkyDrive is it can be as open as you want it or can be your own little private sanctuary.

I Want My Family To See Them
Ok, now you have created a folder with some of your most cherished photos and you want your family to see them! This is easily done. Once you have completed uploading your photos and maybe providing them with a description all you have to do is go to the top and click where it says "Send A Link" and it will automatically insert the link for you into your e-mail program.
See Your Friend's In Action
Once you start to upload files and even visit other people's files that they have made public their picture will appear on the right side of your primary page within "SkyDrive". Now you can keep up with the things your friend's are sharing and uploading! Thought you have seen it all on "Spaces" more than likely not! I choose to submit some of my writing's directly into "SkyDrive" and then bring the file into a blog as a link for things that I feel may be too big and space consuming to publish as a separate entity.
By merely clicking on any of my friend's images that I have visited their "SkyDrive" files I can easily see if they have published anything new.
Start realizing your potential and the growth of your community even more. It's a snap and once you start you will become as addicted to uploading files as I am.
You get 5GB of space to store all your goodies on and believe me that is a lot of space! You can check out other online storage location's, however, with the others you have to put up with unwanted ads and when you send a link to a picture, if it has been viewed too many times it will not be displayed. However, with SkyDrive you do not have to worry about that! Share the link to an image directly and let the world look at it over and over!
Put Your Files On Your Space
If you want you can put your files on directly onto your “Space” this is easily done! Just visit the gallery and go to the link for “Spaces” widgets and find the one that will allow you to share your files directly onto your site. Want to get started now…..log into your space and go directly to your space. Click customize then click add modules. Scroll down through them and located the one for SkyDrive. If you have files already stored there that are public, it will automatically place them onto your site!
Link To A Direct Picture
So you want to show off a picture in your "Spaces" site or possibly somewhere else. Now you can created a dynamic link to the image. However, you will have to know a little about HTML to make this work. Let's say you desire for a picture to be featured within your works....here is an example of the HTML coding that will assist you in doing so. <mg sc="http://turnstile.com/pictured>. Ok, so you say you are confused! This URL is easily accessible right from the picture itself. If you click on a particular picture from any of the files you have uploaded, you will see a link or URL located on the right side.
See how the picture I selected is highlighted in the top of this illustration? Look at the bottom and you will see a box that contains the direct web address to the photo you are trying to link up to! Of course for most of you using Live Writer you have already figured out how to implement photo's into your post and most all of you know how to place them directly into your sites.
