Every once in a while I’ll drive down to South Mountain. Its got an incredible view. So I thought I would try out the new camera and take some more panorama shots. Unfortunately, when I loaded them into the album, it wouldn’t make thumbnails because the aspect ration is to wide. So, I thought I would make some BIG thumbnails here of just the two panoramas. You will probably have to go to the album to see them in their normal size. While the regular picture show fine as little mini-pictures, these are shown just icons without a thumbnail view and are located at the end of the album.

Both of these panoramas were made with half a dozen or more photos stitched together using Windows Live Photo Gallery. Both are taken at Dobbins Point in South Mountain Park. Here is a blurb about the place I found somewhere:

At the top, stop at the Dobbins Lookout, which resembles a natural rock outcropping. This is the second highest point in the park.

The lookout was hand built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938 and was constructed from local granite.
Perched up here at 2,330 feet, you'll get a hawk's eye view of downtown Phoenix (Arizona, USA) and the sprawling Valley of the Sun.

On the far horizon are the several mountain ranges that surround the valley including the Superstition Mountains and the McDowell Mountains.

You probably can’t see too well in this view, but the woman on the left is actually in the picture three times. Oops! I took the series counterclockwise and she kept walking into the next frame.

If you look closely in the normal sized picture there is a UFO in it! I swear!

And that’s how I used Windows Live today!
