I can’t remember exactly when was the first time I used skydrive and to be honest, I really didn’t remember how I used it! What I can remember is I uploaded some e-books and some other files to have an idea how they may look like there. Unfortunately I totally forgot about the files I left there and worst of all, that particular folder left open to public!

After a few months, I received an email from Microsoft Customer Support with this subject:

Windows Live Skydrive Warning - Action Required!

Once I opened it up, I got the whole story! The public folder which I shared with the whole world was containing a file which were not supposed to be shared. Therefore, I was violating the copyrights by leaving it public:

“If you remove all violating content, your skydrive account will again be in accordance with the Windows Live skydrive Code of Conduct, and will remain accessible for your use. Otherwise, we will be forced to close down your skydrive as well as any associated Spaces and Profile accounts. Again, while this is never an option we like to take, Microsoft takes the safety of children quite seriously.

You may delete files from your skydrive account by following these instructions:

1. Log into skydrive

2. Navigate to the 'Shared' or 'Public' folder that contains the offending file

3. Select the file to be removed by clicking the file

4. Click 'Delete'

5. Click 'OK' to permanently delete the file

Thank you for helping Windows Live skydrive provide a friendly and safe experience for all of our customers.”

Thank you  Windows Live Support Team for warning me in a friendly manner about the case and thank you for helping us to have a friendly and safe experience!
