I am sure everyone has heard the phrase “Time is money”.  In this day and age of being frugal and smart with our money it is just as important to save our time so that it does not go waste.

If you were to save just one minute a day doing a routine chore or activity that would result in a savings of 365 minutes or just over 6 hours every year.  That is a lot of time and adds up very quickly.

Let me introduce you to one of my favorite email time savers – the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector.

Even if you only have one Hotmail email account – this little gem will save you a lot of time over the course of your email handling chores.

The Microsoft Office Outlook Connector comes as part of the Windows Live Essentials suite of programs and its installation is as easy as selecting it as one of the optional programs when you install the Windows Live Essentials.  You can also go directly to its own web page and grab the download.

Once you have it downloaded start the installation by either single or double clicking the downloaded file and follow the on screen prompts which are very straight forward.

After it is installed you can then open up Microsoft Outlook and you will be prompted for information about your Hotmail email account. See the screenshot below to get an idea of what that dialog box looks like:

Once you fill in the information you will be prompted to restart Outlook so the new account can be added.  I have learned from experience that it can take some time for the account to be completely downloaded (all of your folders and messages) and that is impacted by your download speed from the Internet and how much info you have in your Hotmail email account.

Once you have the account all downloaded you can send and receive messages from your Hotmail email account. Now all you have to do is find something productive to do with all that saved time your going to have on your hands!
