There are lots of different and clever effects that you can use on your pictures that you want to include inside your blog, and in this post, I will try and demonstrate some of them to you then you can try them.  Its fun to experiment with the features at your disposal inside Windows Live Writer, and of course you can always discard them if you change your mind later, and only publish your post to your blog when you are quite satisfied with the finished result.

So lets try out some effects on our photograph/picture.  Here is a picture that I took today of my daughter trying to vault a log

K vaults a log in the park

in our local park. It’s fine as it is, but maybe it can be improved with a different look.  So click on the picture to bring up the  picture menu, and then click on the EFFECTS tab.  You will see a green cross with a plus sign, and a red coloured minus sign. Click on the green plus sign and  you will be presented with two different choices, so choose TRANSFORMATIONS and a list of different effects will then drop down so that you can select one.

Hey mum where's my colour gone?

Lets choose the first effect,  black and white.  As soon as you click on it your photograph will be changed and will now appear in black and white inside your post.  That looks okay but lets  try some of the others effects as well.  How about making it look like a very old photograph that was taken a long time ago? This time when you click on the photo and then the green cross, in TRANSFORMATIONS select the Sepia Tone.  Now your photograph should look as if it was taken ages ago!  And if you also add Gaussian blur, it really does look old!

Hey I've aged quick!

Don’t like any of the effects that you have just done?  Or just want to undo one of them?  Just click on the effect that you want to remove, then click on the red minus sign, and the chosen effect will then be removed.  If you change your mind about all of the effects then just remove them all, its so simple and easy to do.  Try all of the different effects to your photographs and just see how they can change and alter your pictures inside your post. Have fun trying all of them out!
