The Short version: It is really cool. The Long version: Telling stories is part of the human condition. From early man?s need to record details of the hunt on the walls of Lascaux to social networking sites in the 21st century? we all want to share the victories, failures and amusements in life. As we create new channels of communication, we also create communication barriers. So many of these new tools of connection on the web scatter and randomize what we have to say. The beauty and promise of Windows Live is consolidating all these personal voices into a coherent channel that adapts to the media and mode of any story we want to tell. It becomes our 21st Century campfire, where we share all the milestones, moments, discoveries and observations of a life well lived. Here we have a way for all kinds of communities to come together and share what it means to be part of the human race. The potential of these communities is limitless. For me, I love video as my primary medium. Allowing others to tell their own stories, empowering them with the skills to find their voice, gives me great satisfaction. I love using the web to reach those who want to shoot and edit great stories. I love the idea of giving others an opportunity to be heard in their community, reflecting cultures that may not be a part of mainstream media. I love helping others feel better about themselves. Windows Live presents an opportunity to develop a whole new classroom.
